Comma, No Comma

I have such a thing with names (Angel would probably omit "thing" and replace with "obsession").

He's right. As soon as we got the wondrous "you've been matched" call from our social worker, I googled the meaning of his birth name.

Courtesy of Baby Name Wizard:
Origin of the name Tomas:
Derived from the Aramaic tē’ōma (a twin).

I love that his name means twin! (Tomas is just 3 days younger than Caleb.) I also love that his name works so well in all 3 languages: Hungarian, English, and Spanish! (My husband, Angel, was born in Mexico.) And I am happy, with all the changes he will make as he joins our family, he will keep his name.

I also obsessed over the name of this blog. Trust me, I had many good ones (that others had already thought of) before dwindling down to Follow Us Adopt. But, I like the name. This is our way to share with family, friends, coworkers, and supporters. It is a way for everyone to follow us on this journey. We thank you for your interest, for donating time/money/resources to our family, to stopping by to read about us. Thank you.

Another reason I love the title - a comma flips the script. Follow Us, Adopt!

For years, I have been curious about adoption. I have felt that little nudge within me. I have read and listened to numerous books, blogs, stories, posts, and articles about adoption. I do not believe adoption is for everyone, but, for those who are curious, if any of you also feel that nudge, I would encourage you to continue learning: read other blogs, listen to podcasts, go to an informational meeting or 2, initiate to someone who done this before and ask questions.

Here are some of the resources I have found helpful for those who are interested and maybe one day will Follow Us, (and) Adopt!
